By Rail and Road:
- Via Sunauli Border Crossing
Most people going overland from north India to Nepal pass through the Sunauli border to Bhairahawa in central Nepal, accessible from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. Gorakhpur is well connected by rail with major cities in India.
- Via Raxaul Border Crossing
The Raxaul border crossing to Birganj in central Nepal is accessible from Patna in Bihar. It's most convenient for anyone traveling from Bihar or Kolkata. There are direct trains from Kolkata, Delhi to Raxaul.
- Via Panitanki Border Crossing
The Panitanki border crossing, to Kakarbhitta in far eastern Nepal, is accessible from Siliguri and Bagdogra airport in West Bengal. It's most utilized by people traveling from Darjeeling, Kolkata, Sikkim and the rest of northeast India. Silliguri/ New Jalpaiguri is well connected by rail with all over India.
- Via Banbasa Border Crossing
This border crossing, at Banbasa in Uttarakhand, is the most westerly crossing into Nepal from India. It's the quickest route from Delhi to Kathmandu. Banbasa can be reached from Barielly, Rudrapur, or Haldwani in Uttarakhand (3 hours).
|Hostel Info||Kist Medical College offers comfortable twin sharing and four seater residential accommodations in the Integrated Basic Sciences (IBMS) block for around forty students. Preference is being given to students from outside the country and outside the Kathmandu valley, girls, the physically challenged, dalits and janajatis.
There are separate accommodation for boys and girls. Male students are strictly prohibited from going to the female students rooms and vice versa. The consumption of alcohol, and other intoxicating substances is strictly prohibited and if discovered may lead to expulsion from the hostel and the institution.
|More Info||At present, the college and the teaching hospital are functioning from three main buildings. These are the Integrated Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS) block, the Teaching Hospital block and the OPD and Administrative block.
THE INTEGRATED BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES BLOCK
This block houses the various Basic Science departments and laboratories. The various labs housed in this block are the Histology lab, Biochemistry lab, Physiology lab, Community Medicine lab, Pathology lab, Microbiology lab and Pharmacology lab. It also houses the preclinical dental laboratories.
THE TEACHING HOSPITAL BLOCK
The ground floor has the emergency wing, Gynecology & Obstetrics ward and radiology department and other diagnostic facilities e.g. endoscopy suite. The emergency is equipped with all modern facilities and has eight beds in the emergency ward and eleven beds for observation. The central sterile supplies department and the laundry are also on the ground floor.
The college teaching hospital has adequate number of beds in various departments according to the requirements of TU and NMC.
THE OPD AND ACADEMIC BLOCK
The ground floor has the various out patient departments (OPDs) and also houses the patient waiting area. The third floor has the student classrooms. The classrooms are equipped with modern audiovisual aids like overhead projector, LCD projector, slide projector, laptops and television monitors. This block also houses the administrative offices of the institution on the first floor and the outpatient hospital pharmacy on the ground floor.
NEW HOSPITAL BUILDING
The new hospital building is under construction adjacent to the existing hospital premises. Four floors will be ready for occupation shortly.
