Most people going overland from north India to Nepal pass through the Sunauli border to Bhairahawa in central Nepal, accessible from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. Gorakhpur is well connected by rail with major cities in India.
- Via Raxaul Border Crossing
The Raxaul border crossing to Birganj in central Nepal is accessible from Patna in Bihar. It's most convenient for anyone traveling from Bihar or Kolkata. There are direct trains from Kolkata, Delhi to Raxaul.
- Via Panitanki Border Crossing
The Panitanki border crossing, to Kakarbhitta in far eastern Nepal, is accessible from Siliguri and Bagdogra airport in West Bengal. It's most utilized by people traveling from Darjeeling, Kolkata, Sikkim and the rest of northeast India. Silliguri/ New Jalpaiguri is well connected by rail with all over India.
- Via Banbasa Border Crossing
This border crossing, at Banbasa in Uttarakhand, is the most westerly crossing into Nepal from India. It's the quickest route from Delhi to Kathmandu. Banbasa can be reached from Barielly, Rudrapur, or Haldwani in Uttarakhand (3 hours). |

Duwakot
Hostel complex for 421 students. It is KMC own building. The canteen provides wholesome food-both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.
Sinamangal
KMC have two girls hostel and one boy hostel for 128 students in rented building. There are two hostels at Sinamangal for girls. All the girls students of clinicals and some of basic science are accommodated here. A lady warden is responsible for the day to day management of the hostel. This is within walking distance from the hospital. All the clinical students of KMC wanting to stay in hostel are accommodated here. Mess facilities are available in both complexes. A member of the administrative staff has been deputed to care and facilitate the students. The hostel is provided with basic necessities and has a common room. Allotted warden is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Girls hostel. |

The Clinical Sciences Complex (Sinamangal, Kathmandu)
The clinical complex located at Sinamangal has four multi-storied buildings. The academics complex, in addition to the KMC Teaching Hospital, also houses the academics and examination section, lecture halls, library and canteen. A Paying cabin unit has been added, has improved OPD faculties, diagnostic area, hospital wards and class rooms. All departments are fully staffed. The charges are on par with the government hospitals. The college has modern sophisticated equipment, for use in the hospital. We have fully equipped ICU, CCU, NICU, PICU and MICU.
The Basic Sciences Building (Duwakot, Bhaktapur)
This Basic Science complex is twenty minutes from the Teaching Hospital premises at Sinamangal and is well served by transport facilities. Apart from Nepali students we also have had students from India, Fiji, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and USA. The basic science faculties are staffed as per the Nepal Medical Council guidelines. The complex also houses the academic and examination section, lecture halls, library and canteen. There are also sufficiently equipped departments as well as large academic areas and residential facilities for faculty, staff and students. There is a hundred bedded community hospital at Duwakot. This institution caters to long term patients eg., orthopaedic, rehabilitative and geriatric. |
